Days off

The one main thing I noticed about the public school districts in the west is that they have lots more random days off and teacher professional days then most schools around the US. I personally like that you get to have a longer vacations when it comes to Winter, Spring, and Fall then just having random days off every now and then. You are able to travel with your kids longer on vacation holidays and be with family.

Family Assignment

This weekends assignment 

Ask you children what makes a good family? Have a discussion about why your family is a good family.
 *  Maybe read a story about a family and then discuss the differences between the book family and your family and different.
Eventually they should realize the different relationships between each of your family members.

Objective- students will recognize and describe how people withing the community, state, nation, are both similar and different.

Matierials:
Make a list of what you came up with your student that makes a good family. Send it with your student on monday so we can go over it in class this week.
